My first outing with Karen's new digital Olympus C350 zoom. Quite an experience, and very different from my SLR. The lighting at the track doesn't help much. I took about 50 shots. Half of them turned out to be empty track, and only a dozen managed to get into the slide show! I took about 6 attempts at Rob in the IP. I had to time it as I lost sight of him after the banking.

Lagos de Covadonga | Karen & I parked the motor-home up here for 3 nights. I cycled 20km from Cangas to the top [39x23]. This was the track to the campsite, the race route was surfaced.
Hi-5 on Covadonga | David was so well up on this stage having just lost the Maglia Amarillo, but on his way to winning the next day in Torrelavega.
Autograph time - 'Salida' [start] Cangas de Onis | I still have the signed Sep 8 issue of CW. We left Covadonga & the cowbells for the coast. The TT route came right past our campsite entrance at Santillana del Mar.
Torrelavega ITT | Santiago levelled the score. Karen & I rode the whole route the day after. We moved on to Fuentes Blancs and I rode the last 20km of stage 5 of Vuelta à Burgos 2002!
Top of Jaizkibel towards St Sebastian | My new 'Decathlon' Maglia Vento kit. We headed home via Biarritz & Futuroscope. |

Village Départ Bangères de Bigorre July 2000 | My Dad & I were at Futuroscope for the stage 1 TT win. As we cycled back along the route to the motor-home @ St Cyr, it was Richard Virenque, warming down [posing] who gave us the great news. [I still have his bidon] We were roadside on stage 2 [feed zone], stage 3 [start @ Loudon - a 65mile ride], TTT [20km mark] & followed the race to Aubisque [We both cycled up from Laruns the day before the stage] |
